Brunvoll's Rim Driven Tunnel Thruster (RDT) puts a permanent-magnet motor in the rim around the propeller, so no gearbox or drive shaft is needed. This saves space inside the hull and reduces noise and vibration. Sizes run from 800 mm/200 kW to 2,100 mm/1,600 kW.
