The Niigata 28AHX is a medium-speed diesel for main propulsion, with 280 mm bore and 390 mm stroke. Marine propulsion versions (MG28AHX) run at 800 rpm and range from 2,220 kW for the 6-cylinder to 6,660 kW for the 18-cylinder, with 8, 9, 12 and 16-cylinder options in between. It is widely used in tugs, coastal vessels and government ships.
