The Niigata HX series covers medium-speed diesel engines with bores from 190 to 410 mm. Ratings run from 761 kW at 1,000 rpm for the 6MG19HX to 4,552 kW at 520 rpm for the 6MG41HX, with intermediate models such as the 6MG28HX (1,897 kW) and 8MG34HX (3,640 kW). They are used for propulsion and generator duty in coastal and workboat applications.
