UEC35LSGH hydrogen engine
35 cm-bore hydrogen-fuelled low-speed engine developed via the HyENG JV; completion expected 2026 and vessel demonstration to March 2027.
The UEC35LSGH is a 35 cm-bore hydrogen-fuelled low-speed engine developed through HyENG, the 2021 joint venture of J-ENG, Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Yanmar Power Technology. Land-based testing has shown more than 95% GHG reduction. The first engine is expected to be completed in 2026, followed by a one-year vessel demonstration scheduled to end in March 2027.
