The mtu Series 2000 covers 90° V8, V10, V12 and V16 marine diesels from 720 to 1,939 kW (966–2,600 bhp). They power yachts, fast ferries, workboats and patrol vessels. The Series 2000 M07 meets IMO Tier III and EPA Tier 3. The new 12V2000 M96Z yacht and fast-vessel rating delivers 1,634 kW, up from 1,472 kW on the M96X, and is approved for HVO.
