SRT RimThruster
Gearless electric rim-drive thruster of 200–500 kW with water-lubricated bearings.
The SCHOTTEL RimThruster (SRT) puts the electric motor stator in the tunnel wall, with the propeller blades fixed inside the rotor ring, which gives a gearless direct drive. Three sizes are offered: SRT 800 (200 kW), SRT 1000 (315 kW) and SRT 1250 (500 kW). Water-lubricated, oil-free bearings and replaceable blades keep maintenance low, and the low noise and vibration suit passenger ships.
