Volvo Penta's hybrid-electric IPS combines a D13 diesel with electric drive in the IPS driveline, allowing electric operation at low speed and in harbour and diesel power for cruising. The system is being launched for yachts in 2026. It won Technical Development of the Year at the 2026 Motor Boat Awards.
