About
Amon Maritime was established in September 2019 by André Risholm on the idea that ammonia fuel will propel zero emission shipping. The company is based in Sandefjord, Norway, and states the vision of creating the first carbon free shipping company in the world. Glastad Holding joined as investor in 2020 through its shipping investment arm, Mosvolds Rederi.
The group has grown through joint ventures: Viridis Bulk Carriers (2021, with Navigare Logistics and Mosvolds Rederi), Azane Fuel Solutions (2021, with ECONNECT Energy) and Ula Ship Management (2022, with Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement).
In 2021 Azane Fuel Solutions was awarded 89 MNOK from the Green Initiative for the Ammonia Bunkering Network project, and in 2022 it received DNV approval for an ammonia bunkering terminal and signed a commercial agreement with Yara International on a bunkering network in Scandinavia.
