Everllence
Augsburg-based engine maker (formerly MAN Energy Solutions): B&W two-stroke designs, four-stroke engines, Alpha propellers and cryogenic fuel systems.
About Everllence
Everllence, known until 2025 as MAN Energy Solutions, is a German developer of engines and decarbonisation technology for shipping, power generation and industry, headquartered in Augsburg. It is owned by the Volkswagen Group; in June 2026 Volkswagen agreed to sell a 51% majority stake to Bain Capital and retain 49%, with closing pending.
In marine propulsion Everllence is the leading designer of large low-speed two-stroke engines. Its B&W programme, developed in Copenhagen and built mainly by licensees in Korea, China and Japan, includes the ME-C (4,350-82,440 kW) and dual-fuel ME-GI/GIE (LNG, ethane), ME-LGIM (methanol), ME-LGIP (LPG) and ME-LGIA (ammonia) variants. The first 6G60ME-LGIA passed its factory acceptance test at HHI-EMD in April 2026.
The four-stroke range spans the 175D high-speed engine, L21/31DF-M and L27/38DF-M methanol gensets, 32/44CR, 35/44DF CD and 49/60DF, and is also licensed worldwide. Everllence builds Alpha fixed- and controllable-pitch propellers and Alphatronic controls in Frederikshavn, Denmark, and its Gothenburg-based cryogenic unit supplies LNG, ammonia, methanol and hydrogen fuel supply systems.
