Blue World Technologies

Blue World Technologies ApS is based at Langerak 15A in Aalborg, Denmark. The stated mission is to industrialise high-temperature PEM technology and provide reliable, energy-efficient and cost-competitive methanol fuel cells that enable the use of renewable methanol.

The company acquired 15 per cent of Danish Power Systems in 2019 and the remaining 85 per cent in 2020, the year it also began a limited production of methanol fuel cells. In 2021 it took over an 8,500 m2 production building and insourced production of the core stack components.

In August 2022 the company closed a B round of 37 million euros with Vaekstfonden, the German engine manufacturer DEUTZ and Breakthrough Energy Ventures as leading investors. Series production started at the Blue Aalborg Factory in December 2022 with an initial annual capacity of 15 MW.
