The ME-C is the electronically controlled backbone of the B&W two-stroke programme, covering 4,350-82,440 kW at L1 and 56-167 rpm across G-, S- and L-type stroke/bore ratios. It runs on fuel oil and biofuels and forms the platform for the gas, methanol, LPG and ammonia dual-fuel versions; Everllence notes that ME-C engines can be retrofitted to alternative fuels. Engines are built by licensees for container ships, tankers, bulk carriers and gas carriers.
