About

National Marine Exhaust was founded in 1979 by Heinrich Hochreiter, an Austrian-born engineer who had worked for Boeing and for the custom marine exhaust builder VanVetter in Washington State. When VanVetter closed in the early 1980s he purchased its exhaust drawings and inventory for his own company.

In 1998 his daughter Heidi Hochreiter Conahan and her husband Scott Conahan purchased his interest in the business. Scott Conahan now leads the company, which remains family owned and operated in the same location, while the founder continues to contribute engineering and machine maintenance expertise.

The company is located in Marysville, Washington, USA.
