Pitts clutches were first introduced in 1956 and became known and used around the world. The company, which presents itself as The Clutch People, has its headquarters in Irving, Texas, USA.

The H-Series clutches are fitted to hydraulic pumps from Commercial, Cessna, Eaton, Gresen, Parker, Tyrone, Vickers and other brands. The electromagnetic clutch runs off the DC voltage circuit and gives the operator on/off control of the hydraulic system by a switch, which avoids continuous operation, increases pump or motor life and decreases fuel consumption.

With over 35 million clutches in the field, the Pitts name has also been associated with mobile air-conditioning clutches for over 40 years. Products are sold through authorized distributors, and a catalog, brochures and installation information are published on the company website.
