Kawasaki Side Thrusters (KT series)
Side (tunnel) thrusters up to 4,000 kW with skewed low-vibration propellers, built since 1965 with more than 3,000 units produced.
Kawasaki has built side thrusters since 1965, and production has passed 3,000 units. The range covers inputs up to 4,000 kW, with skewed propellers for low noise and vibration. The thrusters can be driven by electric motors, engines or hydraulic motors and can be integrated with dynamic positioning and remote-control systems. They are widely used on Japanese-built merchant ships, ferries, car carriers and offshore vessels.
