Contra-rotating Rexpeller (CRP)
Contra-rotating propeller variant of the Rexpeller aimed at higher propulsive efficiency.
The contra-rotating Rexpeller uses two coaxial propellers turning in opposite directions to recover rotational energy from the slipstream and so improve propulsive efficiency compared with a single-propeller azimuth unit. It extends the Rexpeller azimuth family, which Kawasaki has supplied since 1983 for tugs, workboats and offshore vessels.
