Promas propulsion & manoeuvring system
Propeller, costa bulb, hub cap and twisted rudder combined in one unit; the company quotes 3–8% efficiency gain on single-screw ships.
Promas combines the propeller, a costa bulb, the hub cap and a twisted rudder into one hydrodynamically optimised unit. It can be used with CP or FP propellers with four or five blades, and a nozzle version is available for tugs and anchor handlers. Kongsberg quotes efficiency gains of 3–8% on single-screw and 2–6% on multi-screw vessels, together with lower noise and vibration.
