Hopkinton, MA · Company

About

The business was founded in 1943 as Barry Controls to solve shock and vibration problems for the US military, after Ervin Pietz of MIT developed the Cup Mount for the US Navy. In 2000 Barry Controls was acquired by Hutchinson, a subsidiary of Total, and joined Vibrachoc, Techlam, Stop-choc and Paulstra in the industrial and defense anti-vibration division. In 2013 all Hutchinson groups united under the single Hutchinson brand.

Hutchinson Aerospace & Industry, Inc. lists facilities at 82 South Street in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, in Ithaca, Michigan, and in Burbank, California, together with a Hutchinson Aerospace site in Blagnac, France.

The stated mission is to provide engineered shock, vibration and motion control solutions for all industries, from prototyping and low-rate production through full production.
