About
Mecc Alte began in 1947, when founder Mario Carraro opened a repair workshop for electric motors in Italy. Today the group has more than 1,200 employees and builds over 1,400 alternators a day. The manufacturing headquarter, Mecc Alte SpA, is at Via Roma 20 in Creazzo, Vicenza.
Alternators are manufactured in Italy, the UK, China and India, supported by wholly owned subsidiaries in Australia, France, Germany, Singapore, Spain and the USA for sales, distribution and aftersales. Production is vertically integrated, from lamination die manufacturing through to the final electronics.
The company describes itself as totally independent: it makes only alternators and does not compete with its customers in the end market.
