About
Skeleton Technologies was founded in 2009 in Tartu, Estonia. Module and system development is located in Tallinn, while production takes place in Germany and Finland: the Leipzig Superfactory for supercapacitor cells, Bitterfeld-Wolfen for Curved Graphene synthesis and the Varkaus Superfactory in Finland.
The products are built on patented Curved Graphene material. Early milestones include space capacitors for the European Space Agency in 2011, the first commercial product series in 2012 and the SkelStart engine start module in 2015.
The company states that it has raised almost 400 million euros of capital. Today it presents itself mainly as a provider of power systems for AI infrastructure and grid stability, with marine, rail, automotive, heavy transportation and mining as further solution areas.
