About

Solé was founded in 1912 by Enrique Solé Jorba as a workshop building and repairing carts and carriages, and later moved into automobile repair. The company has focused on the nautical sector since 1949 and specialised in the marinization of industrial engines, working with base engine makers such as Lombardini, Mercedes Benz, Perkins and Mitsubishi, with whom it marked 40 years of collaboration in 2018.

The MINI engine series was launched in 1970 and the MINI-17 model in 1988; production of generator sets began ten years later. In 2021 the company obtained DNV type approval and created Solé Iberia.

Formerly known as Solé Diesel, the business remains family run: Enrique Solé Matas has directed it since 1992 and Marieli Solé Toledano, fourth generation, joined in 2014 and is the current CEO. The registered company is SOLÉ, S.A., based in Martorell near Barcelona, Spain.
