What is Repower?

Repower enhances older turbines by replacing the drivetrains and rotors with upgraded components and the latest controls technology. GE Vernova estimates that approximately 10,500 legacy turbines in the United States alone are eligible for Repower. This could potentially add as much as 2.6 GW more capacity to the grid.

1.6 MW-97m Repower

Provides new, upgraded drivetrain and extended rotors

The 1.6 MW-97m is our Repower solution for 1.5 MW-77m, 1.6 MW-82.5m, and 1.6 MW-87m turbines. It upgrades the drivetrain and rotor for a more reliable, proven product solution with high availability and reliability.

1.9 MW-127m Repower

Utilizes the same machine head and rotor as the US-leading GE Vernova 2.8 MW-127m turbine.

The 1.9 MW-127m is our Repower solution for the 1.6 MW-100, 1.7 MW-100m, and 1.7 MW-103m turbines. Using equipment from the workhorse 2.8 MW-127m turbine, GE Vernova provides a full machine head, rotor, and downtower assembly (DTA) replacement to help improve AEP by as much as 20%.
