About
Noris was founded in 1925 in Nuremberg, Germany, as Noris Tachometerwerk and is a family-run company in its third generation. The head office of Noris Group GmbH is at Muggenhofer Straße in Nuremberg.
The company moved early into electronic monitoring systems for shipboard propulsion and equipped the first German merchant vessel with an engine monitoring system for unattended machinery spaces. Later milestones include the noriMos marine monitoring systems, the noriStar 4 propulsion remote control and the noriSys 4 automation platform.
The group includes Noris Automation GmbH in Rostock, Noris Automation Far East in Singapore, Noris Benelux in Rotterdam and the joint venture Shanghai NORIS-SIBO Automation in China. Its maritime systems hold cyber security product certification from DNV and Lloyds Register.
