X Shore was founded in 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. The first prototype of the Eelex 8000 was produced in 2017, and the first production boat, the 8 m Eelex 8000, followed in 2020.
In 2021 the company opened a 15,000 m2 factory in Nyköping, Sweden, which it states is capable of producing more than 1000 boats per year. The 6.5 m X Shore 1 was launched in 2022 and the X Shore PRO, a more versatile boat that can also be used as a work boat, in 2023.
The company works under the tagline The Power of Silence and describes its aim as combining sustainability, design and technology in electric boats that protect the oceans. Boats are sold through dealers in countries including Sweden, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and the USA.
