The Arctic Thruster (ARC) is a mechanical azimuth thruster for icebreakers and polar vessels, meeting Polar Class 2 and Icebreaker 7 rules up to 9 MW. Four sizes cover 3,000–9,000 kW, with fixed-pitch propellers of 3.2–4.8 m diameter and dry weights of 85–200 t. It can be supplied in pulling or pushing, open or ducted, and L- or Z-drive versions, driven by a variable-speed electric motor.
