Wärtsilä EnergoPac
Propeller and rudder with bulb designed as one unit; about 2–9% power savings at trial speed.
EnergoPac combines a propeller, often a CPP, with an optimised rudder and rudder bulb designed as a single hydrodynamic unit to reduce resistance and hub losses. Wärtsilä quotes power savings of about 2–9% at trial speed. EnergoPac is one of three Wärtsilä propulsion energy-saving devices, together with EnergoFlow and EnergoProFin, and it is supplied for newbuilds and retrofits on ferries and merchant ships.
