Wärtsilä HY integrates a propulsion engine, power drives for PTO/PTI/PTH, an energy storage system and an energy management system that optimises power flow. It is available as hybrid-mechanical with a CPP or hybrid-electric with an FPP and DC hub, with optional shore charging and PEM fuel cells. Wärtsilä claims up to 25% annual fuel savings depending on vessel and profile. Target vessels are ferries, tugs, OSVs and merchant ships.
