Wärtsilä 20 / 20DF / 20 Methanol
Compact engine of 740–1,980 kW (20DF 870–1,755 kW) for auxiliary gensets and small propulsion; methanol version in development.
The Wärtsilä 20 is a compact, lightweight medium-speed engine. The diesel version comes in 4L to 9L configurations at 740–1,980 kW and 900, 1,000 or 1,200 rpm. The 20DF (6L–9L, 870–1,755 kW) switches between liquid fuels and LNG. A 20 Methanol version (0.8–1.8 MW) is in development. Typical uses are auxiliary gensets and propulsion of tugs and smaller offshore vessels.
