Høglund has successfully completed a comprehensive technical upgrade of Ruzgar, a vessel built in Rostock, Eastern Germany, in 1986. The existing alarm system from VEB Schiffselektronik has been replaced as part of a major refit, marking one of the most demanding projects handled by our refit department.
The scope of supply included:
- Alarm Monitoring System
- Main Engines/Propulsion Safety Systems
- Diesel Generators Safety Systems
- Remote Sounding System
The upgrade also integrated a new CPP system from Scana and Mar-El, and new engine governors from Woodward.
Rebuild projects often involve incomplete documentation and complex cable layouts, making signal tracing and verification challenging. To streamline commissioning onboard, Høglund pre-fabricated and tested all components in-house, with precut and numbered electrical cables ensuring fast and reliable reconnection.
