e-Motion Hybrid Systems

e-Motion was created by Michele Maggi, whose family has worked in marine propulsion for three generations. His grandfather Archangelo Maggi founded Italmotor in the 1930s as the exclusive distributor of MTU marine engines in Italy, and Michele Maggi became its CEO after training at the MTU factory in Friedrichshafen, Germany. In 2003 he teamed up with Norberto Ferretti, and both became interested in electric propulsion.

The company operates as e-Motion Srl at Via Privata OTO 7 in La Spezia, Italy, and as e-Motion LLC in Miami, Florida. The site shows hybrid yachts powered by e-Motion from builders including Tankoa, Admiral (The Italian Sea Group), Sirena Yachts, Aquila, Whitehaven, Archipelago and Pearl. The company is a winner of the NMMA Innovation Awards at the Miami International Boat Show.
