Wärtsilä Retractable Thrusters
Retractable L/Z-drive thrusters of 750–6,500 kW with 8° tilted gearbox for DP vessels; underwater-mountable versions.
Wärtsilä retractable thrusters come in six standard models (WST-09R to WST-45R, 750–6,500 kW) with L- or Z-drive, plus the underwater-mountable WST-55RU and WST-65RU. An 8° tilted propeller gearbox gives about 15–20% more effective thrust. They serve DP vessels such as wind turbine installation ships, offshore construction vessels, shuttle tankers, heavy-lift ships (for example the SSCV Sleipnir) and research vessels.
