Wärtsilä Steerable Thrusters (WST series)
Steerable Z/L-drive thrusters of 700–4,900 kW for tugs, offshore vessels, double-ended ferries and river vessels.
The Wärtsilä Steerable Thruster (WST) family covers 700 to 4,900 kW with electric or mechanical inputs, with mechanical versions for high-speed engines up to 1,800 rpm, in Z- or L-drive arrangements. The newest model, the WST-18E, was introduced in April 2024. The thrusters are compact and highly integrated, with monitored shaft seals and ProTouch controls, and are used on tugs, offshore vessels, double-ended ferries and river vessels.
