Major retrofit without shutdownIn April 2025, Høglund completed a full IAS retrofit on MS Oosterdam while the vessel remained powered in dry dock – a rare and demanding operation. The old ABB system, consisting of AC400 controllers, ABB XA HMI and S800 IO system was replaced by the new Høglund IAS.This was Høglund’s first cruise vessel retrofit and one of its largest projects to date, with over 10,000 I/O points and 383 customized displays.The new IAS system was installed in parallel with the old one, enabling a smooth transition. Key features include a real-time videowall and Høglund’s unique PLAYBACK function for troubleshooting.
