Design for manufacture and test support
Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) are key parts of the design process which lead to efficient manufacturing and test processes, resulting in delivery of your product on time and on budget.
With our highly skilled engineering team, comprising of a combined experience of over 120 years in electronics manufacturing, our guidance and support will aid in the optimization of the design as well as the manufacturing process, resulting in higher yields, faster turnaround time and shorter time to market.
The importance of designing for manufacturing is underlined by the fact that about 70% of manufacturing costs of a product (cost of materials, processing, and assembly) are determined by design decisions, with production decisions (such as process planning or machine selection) responsible for only 20%.
Available on request is our DFM document that has generic recommendations that covers most manufacturing processes. Our engineering team are on hand to offer advice and guidance on how to implement these recommendations at product development stage, resulting in a product that is easily and economically manufactured.
